# cc-profiles > cc-profiles is a free, open-source local web UI to manage multiple Claude Code profiles (configuration folders such as ~/.claude and ~/.claude-work, selected with CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR) on one macOS or Linux computer. It moves projects, memories and conversations between profiles, edits every /config setting, builds the status line, shares skills and plugins, shows token usage, and backs up every change so it can be undone. - Install: `curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/andreaiannarone/cc-profiles/main/install.sh | sh`, or `pipx install cc-profiles`, then `cc-profiles open` (or `/cc-profiles` inside Claude Code). - Runs on 127.0.0.1 only, Python 3.9+ standard library, no dependencies; never copies login credentials between profiles. - License GPL-3.0-or-later. Author: Andrea Iannarone (https://andreaiannarone.com). Source: https://github.com/andreaiannarone/cc-profiles. Package: https://pypi.org/project/cc-profiles/. ## Start - [Overview](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/): cc-profiles is a free local web UI to manage multiple Claude Code profiles and accounts: move projects, memories and settings, with a backup for every change. - [Why cc-profiles](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/why.html): What cc-profiles adds to CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR and shell aliases: moving and relinking projects, sharing, one view of every profile, and undo. - [Getting started](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/getting-started.html): Install cc-profiles with one command (pipx or uv), open it, and start Claude Code in the right profile with claude- launchers or /cc-profiles. - [Concepts](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/concepts.html): How Claude Code profiles work with CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, and what cc-profiles means by source profile, projects, rules, sharing and backups. - [FAQ](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/faq.html): Answers to common questions: using several Claude Code accounts, switching profile per project, credentials, safety, and how to undo a change. ## How-to - [Separate work and personal](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/how-to/work-and-personal.html): Give work its own Claude Code profile in five minutes: create it, log in, move the work projects, and let claude pick the profile from the folder. - [Move a project](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/how-to/move-a-project.html): Move a Claude Code project to another profile with its conversations, memories, prompt history and settings, so /resume keeps working. - [Relink a moved folder](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/how-to/relink-a-moved-folder.html): Renamed or moved a project folder and Claude Code lost its history? Relink it: conversations, memories and arrow-up prompts come back. - [Share skills between profiles](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/how-to/share-skills.html): Use the same Claude Code skills in every profile: share the skills folder, or copy one skill to all profiles; MCP servers and plugins too. ## Guides - [Projects](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/projects.html): See which Claude Code profile each project belongs to, move a project between profiles with its conversations and memories, and relink moved folders. - [Memories](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/memories.html): Browse, edit, move and delete Claude Code memories of every project, keeping the MEMORY.md index of each project in sync. - [Conversations](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/conversations.html): Read Claude Code conversations of every project, move one to another profile with its file snapshots, or delete it. - [Usage](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/usage.html): Claude Code token usage and estimated cost per day, project, model and profile, the most expensive sessions, and a CSV export. - [Profiles and sharing](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/profiles.html): Create, rename and delete Claude Code profiles, start one from a template, and share skills, plugins, agents and settings between profiles. - [Profile by folder](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/profile-by-folder.html): Start Claude Code in the right profile automatically from the folder you are in, using the same rules as the Projects tab. - [Skills and MCP servers](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/skills-and-mcp.html): Create, edit and copy Claude Code skills and MCP servers, for one profile or all of them, with secrets kept out of view. - [Agents](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/agents.html): Create, edit, copy and delete Claude Code subagents per profile: model, tools, effort, permissions and instructions, with a backup for every change. - [Search and compare](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/search-and-compare.html): Search projects, memories, skills, MCP servers and CLAUDE.md in every Claude Code profile, and compare two profiles side by side. - [Plugins](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/plugins.html): See the Claude Code plugins installed in each profile, their version and marketplace, and turn them on or off. - [Export and import](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/export-import.html): Move a Claude Code profile to another computer as a .zip, with or without conversations; login credentials never travel. - [Settings](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/settings.html): Edit every Claude Code /config setting per profile, with safe dropdowns, commit attribution switches, permissions, CLAUDE.md and raw JSON. - [Status line](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/status-line.html): Build a Claude Code status line without code: profile, model, branch, context, tokens, cost and rate limits, with a live preview. - [Backups](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/backups.html): Every cc-profiles change is backed up and can be undone: restore, see what a backup changed, keep backups, automatic cleanup. - [Health and About](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/guides/health.html): Check Claude Code profiles for login, broken links and missing project folders, install Claude Code, and update cc-profiles. ## Reference - [Configuration](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/configuration.html): cc-profiles command line, config.json, folder rules and environment variables, with every option explained. - [Troubleshooting](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/troubleshooting.html): Fixes for common cc-profiles and Claude Code profile problems: busy port, missing command, moved folders, settings with no effect. - [Glossary](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/glossary.html): The words cc-profiles uses, defined in one line each: profile, source profile, project, rule, shared, orphan project, launcher, template, backup. - [Uninstall](https://cc-profiles.andreaia.com/uninstall.html): Remove cc-profiles cleanly: the shell line, the /cc-profiles command, the app and its data.
